A “Sustainability Conference” benchmarking Italian best practices marks the opening of the new BIOPAP® state-of-the-art production facility

BIOPAP®, leading Italian company specializing in the production of fully compostable, biodegradable, and recyclable food containers, is set to unveil its new plant on September 29th during an exclusive Sustainability Conference. The event will host distinguished guests from governmental, economic, and sustainability sectors.

This milestone marks BIOPAP’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and innovation, thus confirming its positioning as an inspiring role model. The new facility, dedicated to the production of the company’s patented products, will double the company’s production capacity. Like its other production sites, this plant operates with zero CO2 emissions, generates zero processing waste, and is entirely self-sufficient in terms of energy, relying solely on electricity from renewable sources, making it a world best practice in circularity and climate change fight.

For over two decades, BIOPAP has been a global leader in the development and production of high-performance, “Made in Italy” sustainable food containers that are compostable and recyclable, boasting unique circularity, performance, and temperature resistance. The inauguration ceremony will feature prominent guests, including Attilio Fontana, Governor of the Lombardy Region; Federico D’Andrea, President of AMSA; Professor Massimo Folador from LIUC; Antonio Brunori, Secretary General of PEFC Italia; Diego Capocci, Director of Operations at Milano Ristorazione; Giovanni Scalia Director General of Cartiere SACI; Marco Ricci from the Italian Composters’ Consortium and the Mayor of Settimo Milanese Sara Santagostino.
